How I got started in Yoga
I came to yoga in 1998 after years of athleticism. I had my third child by then and began experiencing back problems. After discovering that I had scoliosis I decided to take yoga to improve my condition and found more than I ever imagined! That was the beginning of my personal journey with yoga.
Yoga Training & Studies
My yoga studies began under Barbara Spietz, a graduate of the Himilayan Institute under Swami Rama. I studied under Barbara for years and developed the foundation for my yoga practice. I have received certification under Suddha Weixler through The Chicago Yoga Center Teacher Training Program.
While continuing my education, I have had the honor to study and practice under many wonderful instructors, including Rod Stryker, founder of Para Yoga; Anna Forrest, John Friend, Manju Pattabhi Jois, Paul Grilley, Cindi Lee, Om Yoga Center in New York, and Aadil Palkhivala..
Yoga for Athletes
My passion for fitness has taken me into the field of yoga for athletes. I have taught yoga classes for the Chicago Bears (see photos & publicity) and have integrated yoga with sports further by completing Yoga for Golfers training with Katherine Roberts in Arizona.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is a blend of different yoga styles modified to suit the students I am teaching. As a yoga instructor, I emphasize alignment, breath, flexibility, strength, functional mobility and body awareness. From beginners to intermediates, being a part of each student's growth and unfolding is my greatest reward.

I regularly instruct group yoga classes in Libertyville, Gurnee and Waukegan, IL. In addition, I am available for private yoga lessons throughout the northern suburbs of Chicago including, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Northbrook, Deerfield, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Vernon Hills, Gurnee and other locations.
